Diamond Dust is a classic foundation female, easy keeper with reliable breeding, birthing and nursing. She would be great for the new farm that doesn't want to fuss with a maiden (sometimes more work birthing and nursing), who needs some solid white fiber genes and who seeks the historically elite genetics of Diamond Dust's line (sire is Presidio, dam is out of Snowmass herd) and the excitement of having a cria in 2018 from Quech 22, service sire.
Service Sire Hummingherd's Quech 22 is a son of Snowmass Elite Legend, who has been the Futurity Herdsire of the Year twice and is now co-owned by Snowmass Alpacas and Tierra Promenita and CLOSED to outside breedings. Take a look at our listing for this Elite Legend boy we have here (under Diamond Dust's 'service sire') Quech 22, who took a first place at Nationals in Denver 2017 in the Mature halter class - white. At age 5 - you can be assured his amazing fleece stats are reliable and holding well into adulthood. He has the brightest fleece with best hand here at the ranch. We have often felt he was somewhat of a 'silky' type alpaca as he grew, and therefore didn't always do well in the showring. We're layering his traits into the herd here and Diamond Dust is a perfect match.
We fully expect her to have several years left in her breeding career. This is an awesome opportunity to buy some of the best genetics out there at a bargain price due to her age. She is healthy, stout and has never had a health issue here at PPR.
Diamond Dust has shorn up to 9lbs as a younger female, and has only had solid white offspring, even when bred to beige. She has no spots whatsoever. Her fiber at age 12 is upper 20s and we use it for our sock pool. Her offspring continue to shine and fiber stats are awesome - Check out Fairy Dust here at Peaceful Prairie Ranch. In 2016 Diamond Dust had a nice white male cria, who's cute face was featured in our Alpaca Culture Advertisement issues, and is our famous logo-guy wearing the sunglasses!
