WE'VE JUST LEARNED THAT DULCIE'S SON, BURL, HAS BEEN SOLD TO A BREEDER IN GERMANY!!! Way to go Dulcie!! And thank you to Alpacas from Mars for making this resale possible!
Dulcinea, named for the long lost love of Don Quixote, comes from classic Huacaya royalty … Victor’s Julius, Aussie Rockford, Guellermo, Felix, Hannahruh.
At age 7, this unassuming “little brown gal” although lacking the crimp of her first fleece still has a very nice fleece, excellent conformation and bite. She birthed her 4th cria last year without a hitch, as she has every one before.
Over time we have come to appreciate the importance of strong foundation females. Dulcie has proven herself literally 4 times over, presenting us with consistently beautiful, fine fleeced, show winners.
Her first daughter, Spring Bouquet, out of Emerald Farm’s Orlando Cloud, is a two time Reserve Color Champion … proving herself to be a champion both in fleece and halter.
Dulcie’s (only) son, Burl, a Snowstorm son, won blue two out of the three times he was shown. He was a strong contender for Reserve Color Champion, but the year that he was shown, although he sported a superior fleece it was tender, putting him at the top of his class, but unable to advance.
Dulcie’s third daughter, Summer Bouquet, out of Patagonia’s Ernesto, is a fine, typey, bay black. She is show worthy. We had to limit our show season last year and Summer didn’t go with us.
And the coup de grace, Fire Flower, another daughter, this time out of Timberland Alpacas’ Apocalypse’s Hemiaccoyo Coppertop might just be the best female we’ve ever put on the ground. This young lass is MDRG, typey, crimpy, dense, dense (did I say dense?) and full of herself. She makes her show debut in April.
We think a lot of Dulcie and we cogitated long and hard before adding her to our sales offerings. It is only because of her generosity to us that we are able to consider letting her leave the farm.
Dulcie is currently open, and because of this, she is priced much more reasonably than she deserves.
Included in her price, is a breeding to either our light fawn Tracker Cloud (this would be line breeding on Victor – but so are Spring and Fire – we’d do it again in a heartbeat) or our Bisturi son, 4-Sight’s Applause. This pairing could result in a grey cria, or a breeding to Aston Martin, BB 5 x Color Champ.
To paraphrase Mehitabel “there are many, many more dances in this gal yet” and each just gets better!
