This is a quality dam for any breeding program. Juliette will make the needed addition to our foundation with her lineage, fiber quality and EPD package. She is progeny of Derwydd El Nino's Accoyo Manchu and is now bred to our "Man".
Juliette's EPDs are more than respectable. She is in Alpaca Owners Association EPD data base 1% ranking in Medulation and fiber weight. 1% in any one trait is a rare animal when you consider the hundreds of thousand alpacas in the United States. When we bought her we did not know her EPDs and bought her for her ability to bring fiber density offspring to compliment our EPD focus. We have now had 3 cria out of her, each have beautiful fiber, no conformation faults, so she is turning out to be a very valuable foundation dam.
Juliette is of substantial stature. This will be a positive characteristic for the breeding longevity. She should have years of production. Renaissance Ridge description of Juliette reads "Full Peruvian 3/4 Accoyo well proportioned female with strong conformation". All of her offspring have done well in the show ring with one making a respectable showing at the 2015 Futurity.
A look at Juliette's histogram she has some exceptional fiber character traits. Her staple length is quite good. It does no good to have fine fiber is it's length is so short as to make it impossible to spin. Her fineness is above average and the distribution of fineness of her fiber is acceptable in her Standard Deviation (SD) of 4.4 for her age. Her fiber trait EPD values are overall better than 90% of animals tested in the majority of traits measured. It is one thing to have this in one trait but not in 6 traits.
