Miley was one of our farm favorites and we had high hopes for her breeding career but after George, she developed mastitis and we had to remove her from our breeding program. She has retained her fineness - 23 microns at 7 years of age, and she gave us 5.5 lbs of usable blanket and neck fiber in 2015 so she is paying her way, and we still have her in our fiber program!

Description

We are crazy about this guy! Maybe it's his head - he has such a great Suri head (in our humble opinion!). Or, it might be that he is out of one of our favorite dams who we had to retire early given some medical issues that developed later in her life.

But we know we haven't completely lost our minds as George's fiber stats are awesome - at 2.5 years of age, George had histograms of 22.8, 22.1, and 21.4 - shoulder side and hip. And his CV was 19.1, 19.5 and 19.2. We think these fiber stats are excellent for a brown Suri. And George ranks in the 3rd percentile for AFD and in the 4th percentile for SD - and this is up against all colors! When compared to other brown Suris, George is at the top of the class!

And now his biopsy results are in - 65.75 follicles per sq mm, S/P of 11.2:1, and a micron spread between primaries and secondaries of only 8! George is the product of LCA Boots, who has very respectable density numbers, and Salt River's Miley Ray, who is one of our densest Suris - 70 follicles per sq mm - and who has a micron spread of only six. So, no wonder Georgie is so awesome!

We bred George to two girls this Fall - HCLA Trixie and Salt River's Sarah - and both took. Whyl not let your breeding be the next!
