Our herd is known for its exceptional fleece. So when we were choosing our newest herdsire, although we knew we wanted full Accoyo color, we were not willing to deviate from our high expectations for fineness, density, brightness, handle & crimp. Stella is one of those very rare full Accoyo girls that doesn't carry any common full Accoyo lineages, has a short Accoyo pedigree, and still is very young!

Stella is out of Accoyo Pachacuti, a 96 import originally owned by North West Alpacas. Accoyo Pachacuti sired 298 offspring. His histogram at the time of importation showed an impressive 19.8 AFD with a very low coefficient of variation - just 19.7 indicating a fine, very uniform fleece. I'm sure this is one of the reasons Mike Safely chose him for a herdsire at his farm.

Stella's dam, Solstace is just one generation from the Accoyo Ranch in Peru. Her sire is Accoyo Presidente who only sired 32 offspring. Her dam, Accoyo Cajabamba, is a 95 import with exceptional uniformity, conformation and density. She has produced 9 cria.

All this lineage adds up to Stella being totally unrelated to the vast majority of full Accoyos out there. She's a rare find! She can be bred to just about any full Accoyo male without fear of common ancestry.

Short and sweet full Accoyo registrations are getting harder and harder to come by. Stella has only four ancestors listed on her ARI. She's just about as close to coming off the Accoyo Ranch as there is.



Since she has already produced fawn cria, we chose to breed Stella to Accoyo Cuba Libre for her 2013 cria. Cuba is an ultra-fine dark medium fawn son of Express and grandson of Leon.
Stella had a beautiful Snow White baby boy in July 2013.

In April of 2015 Stella unexpectedly passed away leaving us

Description

Wilson is one of those boys that you cannot take your eyes off out in the pasture.
His fleece is white as snow and soft as a cloud, with a beautiful long staple.

His genetics talk for themselves, on his mothers side she is a very rare Accoyo with
4Peruvian Pachacuti 6011 as her sire and Solstace her mother going directly back to
4Peruvain Presidente 6002 and PPPeruvian Cajabamba 4928.
On his paternal side Double Stuff's Accoyo Cuba Libre speaks for himself!!
