Kalibaut is being sold without her 2016 Cria Epiphany, she has already earned her keep in our herd as a foundation female. We are offering another farm the opportunity to add this outstanding producer to their herd. At 12 years of age she still catches on first breeding and her 5 month old cria is already 70 pounds. She still has many years left as a top breeding female. Here is the icing on the cake…Kalibaut is bred to our newest herdsire Olaf, for a May 2017 cria. Olaf is straight out of Amanda Vandenbosh's herd and this will be the first Olaf cria to hit the ground. Looking for that next great thing, I think you have found it in Kalibaut.
Kalibaut comes from the powerhouse of Alberta, Sunnyhill Alpacas, and has made her mark on the foundations of their breeding program. So of course, when she became available, we jumped on the opportunity. She arrived on our farm in early 2014 and since then has been making us absolutely gorgeous babies. Coming bred to Snowmass Conopa, she had a rough birth in September 2014, giving us a beautiful smokey brown boy with a head that challenges any other on our farm. Affectionately named Kaliboogie, he will be joining our herdsire lineup for this year as he nears two. Later, in 2015, she was bred to CCNF Wayfarer as he was going through to Norway. Wayfarer is a square and thick male, covered in fleece from head to toe and we couldn't resist negotiating for some breedings. We excitedly anticipated this cria from Kalibaut, hoping for another boy to join our herdsire row. However on March 10th, she delivered yet another smokey coloured brown baby, with incredibly thick legs and a hardy frame. This little masculine cria happened to be a girl, but we were pleased all the same. Now, at almost two months of age, Epiphany has incredible bone, and the best head on a cria we've ever seen. With fuzzy ears and crimp everywhere on her, Epiphany is one to keep your eyes on as she matures further.
