While Openherd is a self-edit system, we know that from time to time, certain things are going to be challenging to achieve or a bit too technical. In these times we will do our best to help you out and not "nickle and dime" you. If your needs go beyond some technical assistance and require more specialized work that will take some time, then we will let you know and give you a time and cost estimate for the work.

Affiliate Website Plus is designed to not only help your association have an easy-to-use website but provide ways to increase revenue to help pay for operating expenses and grow the programs you are able to offer.

Members can purchase association "merch", gift cards, offer promo codes, calculate tax and shipping, track inventory, and register for multiple paid events. Your association may provide free educational events but it's not unreasonable to charge a nominal fee for offering the convenience of booking online. These fees can then help cover other operating costs - including website hosting!

No. Setup is free. We aim to serve associations and the respective industries they serve by making it an easy, cost-free process. We are here to serve you and your members.

No. The only exception is the cost of your Association's domain registration fees (an annual fee for keeping your domain - i.e. www.myassociation.org - in your name, like car registration).

If you already have a domain registered, then you don't need to pay Openherd for this. This fee only applies if Openherd registers a domain for your Association. Please contact Support for current annual fees charged.

The monthly plan cost is the only fee you pay for website hosting, website designs, site security, any included email accounts, and support.

If you request assistance with making certain edits or custom work on your website that go beyond the scope of our Support services, we will let you know and give you an estimate of the cost, if we are able to assist with your needs.

Yes. Associations can promote themselves on Openherd's Marketplace by scheduling an ad using our Advertising system. Please refer to our Advertising page for details and costs.

We understand that associations don't have big budgets and try to make our plans as affordable as possible.

The approach we take is that if we can help you to grow your membership, provide better value that could justify an increase in membership dues, or utilize included online store and event registration features that can generate revenue, then this can pay for itself or better.

Additionally, associations often have existing website hosting costs and also pay for web people to make updates, which can add up and may be more on average than what you'd pay as a single monthly fee to Openherd.

Since there is no setup fee or other fees, this can make it less of an obstacle to get set up and running. And should costs be too much down the road, it's easy to "pull the plug" if you find something of more value to you.

From Openherd's end, setup can be in as little as a few days. However, Boards often need a bit of time to run any decisions through their review and approval process and regular Board meeting schedule.

We are very familiar with the timelines Associations typically work with and can usually meet your timeline goals and "make it happen".

Yes. Openherd will send an email to all members who create an account on Openherd to give them valuable pointers, tips, and strategies on how to get the most out of Openherd and provide marketing principles and practical steps they can take to get better results.

In addition, Openherd will provide, upon request, an annual marketing webinar for your Members to give them marketing education, live "show and tell" around the features and things they want to know about, and plenty of time for Q&A. This presentation is also included with all Affiliate plans, even Free.

No and Yes! We believe that the best place to provide instructions is right where it's needed instead of in a separate "manual". We provide tooltips next to features that need explaining and include tips on how to get better results.
