Spinners, weavers and felters we have "raw fiber" available to purchase.
Our herd is primarily brown; ranging in color from medium fawn to dark brown, true black, one pinto (medium brown) and one white.
Fiber prices are dependent on market conditions, breed of animal and type of fiber. Prime blanket fiber will be more costly than seconds (neck/leg). Alpaca fiber is more valuable then Llama fiber etc. For this reason, please contact us for current prices, fiber color and weight availability.
Want raw fiber? ... Let us know before shear day and we will sell it right off the animal.
Our shearing season at the ranch is usually mid-May; at which time most of our prime fiber will graded, sorted and shipped for processing.
Raw fiber is currently available, our shearing took place on May 28, 2012. Contact us today!
As fineness and quality of specialty wool increases worldwide prices for elite raw materials are increasing exponentially. These day's the finest wools are commanding unheard prices that seem to increase in parallel to their fineness.
This quest for the best is creating very real incentives for alpaca breeders to set lofty goals.
