Polaris Alpacas Farm is our major accomplishment, our biggest investment, and the source of show-quality alpacas, fleece, and fine alpaca products.
We, Bill and Betty, are the owners of our 23 (and counting!) alpacas, a Great Pyrenees guard dog named Athena, two indoor and two outdoor cats, and innumerable heirloom-breed chickens, all on five acres of land just outside of Tacoma, Washington. We love these cute, charismatic animals, but we weren’t born farmers. A few years ago, we agreed that we needed a natural, physical outlet to provide a mental break from the stressful careers we still work in – Bill is an estimator for a civil contractor and I’m an RN. Raising livestock came to mind as a solution, and alpacas – then an exotic breed – seemed like the perfect choice for us. We’ve been working to build our full-time farm since.
All of our alpacas are for sale. We raise alpacas that we believe will improve anyone's herd with their EPD's. Our primary breeding policy is that no breeding will occur without current fiber and EPD data that demonstrates improvement. So browse around on our site and let us know what you need.

Polaris Alpacas is downsizing its herd! We are dropping our prices to sell! Most of you don't know the other things we do on our farm. Not only do we raise chickens for eggs but we are investigating raising chickens for organic meat production. We also are amateur vintners. We've come to realize that we need to make more room for the true love of our lives....wine production.
