Welcome to Nature's Reserve Alpacas
Nature's Reserve Alpacas is located in the beautiful Delaware River Valley of Callicoon, New York. Our farm is located right on the banks of the magnificent Delaware River where bald eagles soar. We are conveniently located only 2 hours from New York City making the Sullivan County Catskills a year-round playground for vacationers and second home owners. There are many activities to enjoy in all four seasons. We are only 20 minutes from the world class performing arts venue, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.
Alpaca fleece comes in 22 natural colors. Besides the softness of the fleece it has superior insulating ability without weight. This fiber breaths with your body which reduces overheating. It also can shed water, keeping you warm even when it is wet. The two most common types of alpaca that are used for garment purposes is the Suri (long, pencil sized ringlets) and Huacayas (shorter and fuzzier).
It's the middle of winter, and dreary cold. The alpacas are looking like big fluffy fur balls. Our farm store is open by appointment only, so just call before you visit us. We have an assortment of yarns, scarves, yoga and dress socks, hats and gloves.
A new supply of sport weight yarn has just come in from the mill. It's farm blend in color with natural bamboo added(10%). Farm blend is a combination of all the colors of our alpacas mixed together. Since, the yarn is a mixture of browns. whites, grays, blacks, fawns, and beiges, it goes with most any color. This is the farm's most popular color in yarn.
Our crias are all well and growing. I will post pictures of them soon. Email or call us for information on our packages on animals for sale. We have males and females for sale, as well as crias.
