Washoe Valley's Doctor K is a full Peruvian, 3/4 Accoyo Jr. Herdsire with impeccable lineage and fleece. Doc's sire is Accoyo Manchu, an El Nino son and PPeruvian Caligula grandson. Doc's dam isDerwydd Santino's Kullku, an Accoyo Santino daughter and PPPeruvian Dracula grandaughter. The accomplishments of these alpacas are legendary.....dozens of Blue Ribbons, dozens of Color and Reserve Championships, Dozens of Get of Sire awards. But all of this is not the essence of this story.

At 6 months and three weeks of age and just weened from his dam and weighing only 57 lbs and never having been off the ranch and never having been in a trailer, Doc's former owner and breeder, Len Chyet, decided to show Doc at Gold Country Gathering 2010. The competition in his class of 11 was like murderer's row and included 3 other Manchu sons from large, well established ranches, known for their quality animals. Doc was the youngest and smallest contestant and at first glance appeared to have walked into the wrong ring. Additionally, the weather was like a monsoon. Each contestant should have been given an award for simply making it to the show ring........AND THE WINNER WAS WASHOE VALLEY'S DOCTOR K !!!

Len will always cherish this memory, as Doc is very special to him. Last February Len was diagnosed with highly aggressive prostate cancer. He told his surgeon, "if you get me through this mess, I am going to name an alpaca after you." Len was blessed with a brilliant physician and is now cancer free with no chemo or radiation treatments. For Len, a promise made is a promice kept, hence the name, Washoe Valley's Doctor K.

Doctor K began his show career in earnest at the California Classic 2011. Doc has very dense, high amplitude crimped fleece with coverage from his topknot to his toes. His cria histogram was an amazing AFD 15.8, SD 3.9, CV 24.7 and % > 30 was just .8. Doc's 2011 histogram is AFD 21.0, SD 3.7, CV 17.4 and % > 30 is just 1.6. We will soon see where this adventure leads us. In addition to everything else, Len wrote, "Doc is very well behaved and easy to work with. Doc is the first to greet me when I enter his corral".

We were blessed to be able to purchase Doc after the 2012 California Classic and he will be coming to our ranch in September of 2012 to begin his breeding career. If you are fortunate enough to purchase a breeding to Doc in 2012, which will be limited, you will indeed be as blessed as Len was and just maybe, some of his good vibes will rub off on you too.
