Asteroid brought home his 9th blue ribbon and 3rd Championship at 38 months old. The judges keep saying "What an impressive male, the total package. Incredible balance and bone, exceptional density and consistency." We have had such an incredible time showing this male and as much as we would love him to continue, we had to retire him. UpDate...Shearing Day, May 1st, 2013 and what an outcome on this Proven Female. Her fleece blanket weighed in over 7 pounds and it's amazing. She's my second highest fleece producer and she's a Proven Female to boot. Polly's fleece is really Fine Fleece and there's loads of it. So, not only does she produce Beautiful Cria, her fleece continues to improve which is absolutely awesome. Good Job Polly. She's a Keeper too!!!
Pen Cuckoo's Polly as we call her is a very correct Dark Fawn Female. Her fleece is Dense and her coverage is awesome. Polly's sire is ARF Royal Peruvian Bear, an exceptional true black male out of MFI Peruvian Black Mesquite! Her Dam is a medium fawn. Her fleece at shearing summer of 2012 was really more than I hoped for. Her blanket weight was well over 4 pounds and it's really nice fleece. It's lighter in color once shorn and will produce some very nice yarn. We are happy to have Polly as one of our Foundation Females as she is now proven as a wonderful mother with her first cria, a female born on the 25th of July 2012.
As of the end of September 2012, we believe we were successful with a breeding to Polly with our Herdsire Pierre. A full Peruvian male, dark brown with gray throughout his blanket. We are hoping the end of August 2013 will be the month of another Beautiful Healthy Cria from our Girl Polly.
PAST POSTS..
July 25th was birthing day for Polly. She gave birth to our little Gem Ruby, a Beautiful dark Fawn female. All went well, and the two of them are doing wonderfully.
