Cassandra isn't a flashy alpaca, and she doesn't have the flashy pedigree, but her fleece data and EPD's tell it all! This medium brown female has some of THE BEST EPD's on our farm. Her soft dense fleece has a staggering micron count of 23, even though she is more than 10 years old. She has given us phenomenal cria and would be a wonderful addition to your breeding program.
7-2-12 Cassandra delivered a beautiful healthy male cria!

The DENSITY and FINENESS of Antares’ fiber is combined to perfection – and for those qualities in color, this is the huacaya alpaca you are looking for! We’ve done our best to show the incredibly crimp and coverage of his medium fawn fleece in the detailed pictures, but to truly appreciate what Antares is producing, you must feel it against your fingers in person. Antares has gotten some wonderful awards in 2013 for his fleece. At Nationals he had 3 points off for Uniformity, 3 off for Fineness and Handle, 2.5 off for Style, and 2.5 off for Brightness. Judges notes state 'FANTASTIC CRIMP AND DENSITY.' CABA judges state 'MAINTAINING GOOD FINENESS FOR AGE!'
A beautiful alpaca with fantastic bloodlines, Antares is a Studmaster Progeny, sired by EL BELLO and grandsired by the legendary HEMINGWAY. His conformation and fleece coverage are superb. The fleece is amazingly soft with fine, high-frequency crimp, so dense it’s like running your fingers through carpeting, but a perfect delight to touch. In 2011, Antares gave us a 5-pound blanket and 5-pound neck weight. On ARIList, he is shown in the TOP 2% for AFD in Medium Fawn Males. We are expecting cria from him in June 2013 and can’t wait to see what his excellent qualities will bring to our beloved herd.
We name our crias after stars, to continue the theme of our farm name, and for Antares, we chose a star in the constellation Scorpio. The star Antares is 550 light years away and 10,000 times brighter than Earth’s Sun. It gets its name from the fact that it is commonly mistaken for Mars, so “ant-Ares” means either “similar to Mars” or “rival of Mars.” This fine huacaya male certainly seemed like a fitting rival for a Greek god to us!
