Introducing Alpaca FELT

River Bed Ranch has recently purchased a FeltLoom and has begun processing raw alpaca into glorious, fancy felt fabric. This is a wonderful alternative to yarn and knitted or woven fabric. We will be showcasing our products and our processing services here and at our website. Check back with us to learn the latest on this new venture. We think it is a wonderful use of that alpaca that is stored in all of those barns. And the cost of production is much more reasonable than going to yarn. What is more, the felt is ready for many uses in a short period of time.

Carol and Tom Frazer established River Bed Ranch Alpacas in 1991 when there were 2,500 alpacas in the country. We have watched this industry mature to the levels you see today. We have contributed to the growth of this industry in Utah and surrounding states. We know more about the alpaca and the alpaca industry as a whole than most folks in the business today by virtue of the fact we have been doing this so long. As a result, Our Experience is YOUR best Resource!

We offer some wonderful, beautiful alpacas for sale or for stud service. Each year we have concentrated on improving last year’s herd by making careful decisions in our breeding program. Our herd now embraces both huacaya alpacas and suri alpacas.

And just this year we have established The FELT Plant, where we will be processing raw alpaca fiber into the most wonderful fancy felt you have ever seen. We are the plant that makes the felt and our animals are the plants that grow the felt!!

River Bed Ranch is located about 50 miles from Salt Lake City and 20 miles from Park City, Utah. We encourage you to browse our website and then come visit our ranch. If the latter is impossible, contact us. We offer great counsel and support over the phone and internet. We are here to serve our alpacas and our customers. Service and community is so important in this business. We offer that and thensome. At River Bed Ranch we focus on animal well-being FIRST. We love raising and selling alpacas and meeting people with a like interest. We have shied away from farm stores and open houses for selfish reasons. Our preference is one-on-one communication with others who are interested in these lovely creatures. We would love to meet YOU and tell you how you, too, can enjoy a stress free walk with nature.

PRICING POLICY Pricing on all of our alpacas is determined by their age, the dominance of their bloodline in our herd, whether or not they are pregnant, whether the buyer would like us to breed a female or not, and overall quality of the fleece on the animal. FINANACING We offer financing options based upon the purchase price and the matters of breeding for any female offered for sale.
