    Crescent Moon's Donato

Huacaya, Herdsire (Male), Proven, Light Silver Grey, 5/8 Peruvian, 3/8 Chilean
    ARI# 31068468 | DOB: 2/1/2008
Donato represents spectacular genetics no matter what color, but as a Grey, he is amazing. I sold his mother to Crescent Moon in 2005, perhaps a mistake! When Coco Chanel produced Donato, I knew I would like to get her genetics back on my farm. We all realized Donato had star power early on. Sleek and macho good looks, meant all that remained was the growing up. Well grown-up he did, into a beautiful specimen of handsome style, off the chart density, and fineness and crimp to covet.

Snowmass Sweet Dreams is one of the Grand Dams of the Grey alpaca world. She is a daughter of Snowmass Peruvian Casanova, one of the country’s top grey males, who won the 2003 Futurity Herdsire of the Year award, and later sold for $147,000. Sweet Dreams was one of Snowmass’ top Grey females, winning 2004 Grey Female Halter Champion at The Futurity, 2004 AWE Grey Female Halter Reserve Color Champion and 2005 Grey Female Fleece Reserve Color Champion at AOBA . Before Snowmass sold her at their 2...

    Description

Skyline’s Thunderbolt is everything we were looking for when we bred Futurity Champion, Snowmass Sweet Dreams to our 8X Champion herdsire, Crescent Moon’s Donato (also a Futurity Champion). We hoped for a stunning Silver Grey cria and that is exactly what we got. Thunderbolt has an exquisite head, outstanding density, and eye-catching presence. Thunderbolt’s fleece is impressive as well with an AFD of 19.2. He has a spot-free, Light Silver Grey blanket with super long staple length (maybe even too long for the show season), with good brightness and crimp. We feel Thunderbolt is a good candidate to be an outstanding herdsire. With his genetics and phenotype, you’re sure to add fleece density, correct conformation and an outstanding look to your breeding program.
